Winter is Coming.....

Even though things slow down in Holland in the winter -- its still a great place for a getaway....  One of my favorite things to do this time of year is head to the Holland Farmer's Market.  Oh, there's a chill in the air - and you'll need a coat and scarf... but the produce is still bright and tempting, and the fall mums are beautiful.  Once my market basket is full of potatoes and veggies, there are 3 or 4 bakery stands I like to wander over to.... You might like the fudge maker's stand, or want to buy some fresh michigan honey or local jerky... Open every Wednesday and Saturday -- don't miss the Holland Farmer's Market.

In late November, the market puts on its Holiday hat and transforms into an open air European Christmas Market. Bring your list and check it twice! The Kersmarkt at the Eighth Street Market Place is an ideal place to shop for unique gifts and to enjoy authentic Dutch holiday treats. Sixteen vendors are housed in historically crafted booths offering fresh greenery, trees, wreaths, hand-knit clothing and accessories, wooden boxes and toys, pet items, ornaments, Dutch gifts, folk art, handmade jewelry, warm snacks and beverages, and much more!  Get more info here.

If its not shopping you're into, we've got cross country skiing, and downhill nearby. Snoeshoeing, snow mobile trails, ice fishing, ice hockey, and vibrant night life....  Don't be fooled into thinking the fun stops when the temperature drops!  Book a holiday getaway with us, and get cozy by the fire while you plan your next winter adventure at the shore!  Start here with Holland Holiday Events....
